Every few months I host a girl’s night out at a local boutique offering style tips, makeup and hair demos, drinks, shopping, goody bags, drawings, discounts and fabulous girl time!
The last event was held at The Blues Jean Bar in Cherry Creek North. This is not your typical bar- it is a safe haven for people in search of a cozy atmosphere to find the perfect pair of blues. In addition to the fabulous staff, serving it up was Hair Stylist Liz Mefford of Salon No Dice, Makeup Artist Sameera Ahmed of Makeup by Sameera, and capturing all the fun was Photographer Audrey Fisher of Audrey Michel Photography.

Thank you to all who attended this fun and fabulous event- it wouldn’t have been the same without you! Hope to see you at the next Tips and Sips!
Cheers to looking and feeling fabulous!
Found that perfect item? Is it worth the price? Think about this: cost per wear.
For example, If you need a dress for a fancy event and it is $300 and you only plan on wearing it once- cost per wear: $300. If you find a pair of jeans that fit you like a glove and are $200 but you plan on wearing them 200 times this year- cost per wear: $1. (And as far as jeans go, if you do find that perfect pair- BUY THEM! If you can afford to buy two pairs- do! One to wear with flats and one to wear with heels.)
Granted, you can’t substitute the jeans for the fancy dress. However, if you decide you will only wear the $300 dress to this one event- maybe you should look for one that is less expensive or a dress that will serve multiple purposes.
This will help to put your purchases in perspective of how much an item is worth to you based on how often you think you will wear it.
Nothing says Summer like a great pair of white pants. They are perfect for work and play and can take you from day to evening in a second. Try pairing them with a slinky top, add a jacket or sweater, and a fun pair of heels. Off to meet the girls after work? Just take off the jacket or sweater, grab a bright summery clutch and you are on your way! Read on »
